You have a 30 card deck filled with terrain cards, character cards, item cards, and command cards. Use them to create your Starting Party. After all players have selected their Starting Party and placed it face-down, the first turn of the game can begin. You can refer to the [[Videos#Tutorial|Videos]] for a visual guide. [[file:screen2.jpg|500px|right]] ==Win Conditions== *Defeat all Characters your opponent controls. *Reduce your opponent’s HP from 50 to 0. ===Always 2 out of 3=== Terrene Odyssey is always played in a best 2 of 3 format. After you have won a game, both players reveal all their hidden cards, shuffle all their cards back into their deck and choose a new Starting party for the next game of the set. == Starting Party Composition == [[File:SS 1.jpg|500px|right]] Each player starts with the following: *4 [[Character cards|Characters]] (1 [[Supply]] or lower) *1 [[Item cards|Item]] or [[Command cards|Command]] assigned to each Character (4 total) *1 [[Terrain cards|Terrain]] (cannot be a [[Terrain cards#Storms|Storm]]) Players are not allowed to have duplicates of cards in their starting party composition. {{#ev:youtube|ZZJVZE2g628|450}} ==Turn Structure== ===Command Phase=== *Lose all remaining Actions *Gain Actions based on what your Terrain card says *Effects that say ‘Start of Turn’ trigger ===Draw Phase=== Draw a card from your deck ===Action Phase=== You can do the following Actions on your turn. Some Actions cost you the Actions your Terrain produced. Others are free. ====Action Phase – Spend Actions==== *Recruit a Character in play. *Attack with a Character by playing 1 Action. Each Character can attack once per turn. *Pay for Trigger Abilities on Characters, Items, Commands, and/or Terrains (X Actions). ====Action Phase – Free Actions==== *Hide a Character into play from your hand by playing it face-down.(Takes up 1 SP) *Block an attack from an enemy Character. You can only do this on your opponent’s turn. *Assign Items and Commands to your Characters (card placed face-down behind the Character holding it) *Trade face-down Items and Commands between two of your Characters. You can do this once during each of your turns. *Dismiss Characters, Items, and Commands you control (You take any damage on these cards to your HP). *Run from battle and forfeit the game. If you run during a set, you draw 2 cards on your first turn of the next game (same set only). ===End Phase=== All ‘End of turn’ effects trigger Your turn is over ==Battle!== {{#ev:youtube|RkvmU_Jm52U}} === Declaring an Attack === *Spend 1 Action **Characters CAN attack on the same turn they are Recruited **Each Character can only attack once per turn **Push the attacking Character forward (to help remember which Characters have already attacked) *The defending player chooses which Character blocks the attack, unless the attack is a Direct Attack === Blocking an Attack === *Declaring a blocking Character is a free Action **You may not block an attack with more than one Character **A Character can block multiple times *After each block, the blocking Character suffers [[Defense Decay]] **A -5 DEF Token is placed on the Character until the start of it’s next turn **Defense Decay stacks *Blocking Characters do not deal damage back to their attackers unless they have [[Retaliate]] === Damage Calculation === *The ATK of the attacking Character is reduced by the blocking Character's DEF *The remaining ATK is dealt as [[Damage Types#Battle Damage|Battle Damage]] to the blocking Character *If the damage sustained by a Character is greater than or equal to their remaining HP, they are [[Defeat a Character|Defeated]] **Damage exceeding the defeated Character's HP is dealt to the defending player's HP (Overkill Damage) ==XP and Leveling up== {{#ev:youtube|l_6U4a9yBfQ}} ===Gaining XP=== When you defeat a Character, you gain XP equal to its LV. XP is exclusive to the Character that dealt the final blow.
